Highlands Ranch

Highlands Ranch is located in Douglas County and about 12 miles south of Denver. It became a suburb after the land was bought in 1979 and the 22,000-acre community was built there with the first homes appearing in 1981. The community was planned out with major roads, schools, recreation centers, town center and a public library and has continued to grow ever since! Highlands Ranch currently has a population of around 96,000 people and it is known for its wonderful quality of life and opportunities for an active lifestyle. This is made possible by the many public parks and bike paths. Forbes even recognized it as one of the top places to move in the nation!

Lone Tree

Lone Tree is also in Douglas County and located 18 miles south of Denver’s downtown area. This is a smaller suburb with a total population of around 14,000. It is a recently developed incorporated city with large master planned communities. This is a popular area for families and young professionals. There are plenty of places to get outside and get active with running and biking trails and the nearby Bluffs Regional Park. And there are a variety of dining and entertainment options. The Lone Tree Golf Club is highly rated and very popular. Lone Tree is also home to Colorado’s largest shopping mall, Park Meadows Mall. 

Parker

Parker is about 23 miles southeast of downtown Denver and has a total population of around 57,500 people. It has easy access to the Denver metropolitan area and is known for its unique Western-Victorian downtown. It was founded in 1864 and became a municipality in 1981 and it has been growing since then. It is a popular area for nature lovers as the town maintains 10 trails with over 27 miles of concrete paved trails and also has over 6 miles of natural surface equestrian trails. The town has many other fun things to do and community events throughout the year.

Castle Pines

The City of Castle Pines is very new and was officially incorporated in 2008. It is located 20 miles south of downtown Denver and has a population of around 10,000 people. The city prides themselves on being business and family friendly and features a sprawling landscape. There are many opportunities for outdoor activities because of its parks and trails and also has two amazing golf courses, Castle Pines Golf Club and The Ridge at Castle Pines. The Castle Pines Village Square is another great feature of the town and is enjoyed by locals. 

Castle Rock

Castle Rock is an affluent municipality located about 30 miles south of Denver. It has a population of over 70,000 and a long and rich history. The town has been in existence since 1874 and became prosperous after the train depot was built. This is a popular city for young professionals and families because of the great school district, low crime rate, convenient location and small town atmosphere. It has a wide range of recreational activities and features many family oriented events. 

Cherry Hills Village

Cherry Hills is a community with around 6000 residents and located just south of downtown Denver. It’s a popular area with some of the area’s most expensive homes. This area has tons of opportunity for outdoor activities because of the many trails and John Meade Park. The Cherry Hills Country Club is a private country club that is very popular and has hosted a number of PGA Tour events. Cherry Hills Village is also popular with families because of the great Cherry Creek school district it is located in. 

Greenwood Village

Greenwood Village was incorporated into a town in 1950 and has grown exponentially since that time. But with 300 acres of parks and 100 acres of undeveloped space it still feels like an incredibly open area. Only 13 miles to downtown Denver and very close to the Denver Tech Center area this area is very popular. The city currently has a population of about 16,000 residents but this number grows during the day due to business commuters. It is a home to a host of restaurants, coffee shops, parks and other forms of entertainment.
